Domestic violence

Definition 

Abuse or family violence that occurs at household is called domestic violence.

According to Sen,every person should feel safe in their own homes and communities. Who don't. 

 My fear

Today, while writing about domestic violence,I am little bit troubled because, sometime it happens that readers think these are the problems faced by the writer and that is why he/she writes it so well. But my thinking here is a little different from yours. Because I believe that sometimes you don't have to go through things to feel them. We don't have to go into everything to feel it.We can also feel things that haven't happened to us like in  "psychogenic pain" during which our mind feels pain without physical source. That is to say, every day on news channels we hear that a boy threw acid on a girl's face, so at the same time we feel pain of that girl. It is not necessary for you to throw acid on your face or body just to feel pain. 

Unfortunately, women are more affected by this heinous practice than men. Some people here will disagree with me, and do it happily. As it is your right to disagree but only after checking the statistics thoroughly because they will prove you wrong.Rather, you are requested to look around you and if not, look at your home and you will find half a case.You will come to know that I was quite right. 

Statistics show that about 12 million victims appear each year as a result of domestic violence. 80% of them are women. These are just the reported case. Let go of those who have not been reported. 

       

"Sorry my Dear woman, he is no longer in love with you and in it is not your fault"

Sometimes women feel that it is their fault that they have been abused, it is because they are made to feel in their homes by their parents or siblings if it happened, you must have done something wrong that you were tortured. What's the matter, has anyone ever asked a man that if a woman has abused him, then it must be the man's fault that he abused the woman?

  Domestic violence has many types , and it is quite difficult to describe all types of domestic violence in one blog so, i will discuss the most common. So, let's have a look on these types. 

• Physical violence 

Physical violence occurs when someone hurts you, harms you, injures you, beats you, burns you by using objects or weapons. 

This is the most visible type of violence. Yes! It is visible. It would not be wrong to say that this type has become very common especially in the villages but I think the city is not far behind the villages. They have also moved forward now. New thing for you but not for me. I think we all know that it happens everywhere. You see, if celebrities can do that, the rest is left behind. Recently a singer beat his wife brutally which is reprehensible. 

"it doesn't matter what she did, it's never okay to hit a women, ever! 

This is the reality of all these people. Yes, of course the people who tell you to do this all day long. Do this to your family do that to your family. Do this, do that yo become a better person which they are not. 

Unfortunately this is not the only story. An  Indian actor brutally tortured his wife. I am giving these examples to you guys! that you can estimate that how has the situation been worse .

"It’s okay to be aggressive it's never okay to be cruel"

Human beings can never be perfect but we cam try at least. We had never heard a news that a wife beat her husband,at least i have never heard such a news. What a nonsense all of you must be saying this to me? You people call it reality, and i hate that kind of reality. Cruelty is when people say she did it to gain fame. Would you ever like to get such cheap fame?

• Emotional violence

This type of violence occurs when somebody feels you insult or gives you threat or criticize you constantly. 

Sadly it has become so common that it must have happened at least once in every house. Now you are saying here, no, it doesn't happen in our house. It may not have happened but it is very difficult to believe. This is a very common thing to our society or maybe it means nothing to them.It doesn't make sense for us to humiliate anyone.This type of violence hurts me more because victims m suffers more when they are failed to provide any prove against this practice.Prove are not only needed in courts but even people questions you to validate the petition. Yelling at someone is a easy tactic to control someone and also a easy way to let the other people know who is controlling ,which is quite scary. Emotional violence is not limited to intimate partner but a brother abuse her sister emotionally, a son abuse her mother emotionally and a father abuse her daughter emotionally.

Somewhere you are not doing that. 

• Spiritual violence 

Spiritual violence occurs when someone uses religious beliefs to dominate.

It is an attempt of exerting power or control over someone using religion. Spiritual abuse can happen in the the name of religion. Nowadays it has become more common violence in our society you have seen that everybody killing each other in the name of religion. New revelation, pride, anger, intimidation, immorality and demanding loyalty and honor can be the result of spiritual violence. Recently a mob tortured Priyantha Kumara and then lit him on fire. He was a Sri Lankan, factory manager in Pakistan . After the brutal killing of Priyantha the mob informed media that they were compelled to kill Kumara because he had engaged in blasphemous behavior. 

         " Please Stop! the false claimants of                      Islam"  

Because in our religion, killing one human being is killing all humanity.  

Purple color 

Guys don't be confused, purple color is not a type of domestic violence rather it is a color of peace. Purple ribbon indicates the domestic violence.November 25 is celebrated awareness about Domestic Violence. 

Please! wear a ribbon on that day and spread the message that violence against women is unbearable. Ask your children to support this massage. Any form of violence is unbearable whether it is physical, emotional, spiritual, verbal, cultural and financial against anyone. At least for me, enduring oppression is also a form of oppression.
